Agricultural Machines

Historical Background of Agricultural Machines use in Bangladesh :

The use of Agricultural machines in Bangladesh began in 1950 and started new era in 1961 with microirrigation operated by  Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC).  In early of 1970s, BADC startedthe installation of deep and shallow tubewell. The establishment of BADC  was a key milestone, facilitatingthe import of machinery, providing subsidies, and the offering credit to farmers. Policies in the late 1980s, such as removing tariffs on two-wheeled tractors (2WTs), significantly increased mechanization. Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) is  involved in major irrigation with surface water from the  river along with the installation of some Deep Tubewell in Thakurgaon district.
